Elgato Game Capture HD now supports 1080p Full HD!
Our engineers have worked around the clock to bring you state-of-the-art, stunning 1080p capture. You can now set your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 to 1080p and simultaneously capture in 1080p30. And even if you only want to capture in 720p: thanks to Elgato Game Capture HD’s advanced hardware H.264 encoding, you can play on the big screen in glorious, lag-free 1080p, while simultaneously capturing in space-saving, web-friendly 720p.
We know, this is pretty big, but there are even more improvements in this version that you surely don’t want to miss out on: |

¡Hola! – Ciao! – こんにちは
Until today, Elgato Game Capture HD could speak English, French and German. During the past months, it has taken some language lessons and will now shine in Spanish, Italian and even Japanese, too! We hope boarding school was worth it. |

Improved MP4 export
Sometimes, you don’t want to upload your gameplay straight to YouTube from the Elgato Game Capture HD software, and we’re totally cool with that. Sony Vegas likes our MP4 files even more now, and even if the input resolution has changed during a recording, things will work smoother now. |

Improved on-screen delay
With its advanced hardware H.264 encoding, Elgato Game Capture HD crunches the massive HD video signal to deliver stunning HD video over USB 2.0, without putting load on your computer. With this update, we’ve managed to make this process even faster, resulting in less delay on your computer while maintaining the completely lag-free passthrough to your TV. |

Foot switch support
Flashback Recording always has your back, even if you didn’t press the record button, but sometimes you already know your next moment will be epic. Now, there’s another way to start and stop your capture: Elgato Game Capture HD now supports the Scythe USB Foot Switch 2 (USB-1FS-2) . Because your hands should really be on your controller. |

Found bugs, squished them
We strive for perfection, but we wouldn’t be human if there hadn’t been a bug or two that slipped through on our very first release of Elgato Game Capture HD. Since you’ve helped us find and reproduce those bugs by reaching out to us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and our support website, we were able to fix many things, making your Elgato Game Capture HD running more reliable than ever before:
-
Some TVs would show intermediate black flickers when Game Capture HD was passing through video from a PlayStation 3. No more!
-
Some Android devices could not be connected to Elgato Game Capture HD. Now, they can!
-
Many, many small interface improvements. We challenge you to find them all, but they include that you can now see how many MB/s your recordings will take with your preferred quality settings, drag videos right from your video list or give your video the thumbnail you’d like. Awesome!
